Moncton Announces Full New Year's Eve Family Fun Fest Program

Moncton has put the final touches on an exciting program and is set to welcome residents and visitors to Downtown Place on Dec. 31 for the fourth annual New Year’s Eve Family Fun Fest, presented by the Moncton Wildcats.

The event boasts an exciting lineup, including live performances by Signal Hill, presented by Subaru of Moncton and Greystone Energy Systems, Tcheu Misère, presented by IG Wealth Management, and Big Bad Party Band, presented by Acadian Construction and Extreme Windows and Entrance Systems. Guests can enjoy two dazzling fireworks displays presented by Medavie, Ashford Properties and Avant Garde Construction, a beer garden sponsored by the Hyatt Hotel and Carrabba’s, and catch the Moncton Wildcats as they face off against the Charlottetown Islanders at the Avenir Centre.

For families, the BioScript indoor Kid’s Zone promises endless fun with performances by Mr. Mark and Mike Pendergast, a photo booth, face painting, and engaging family-friendly activities. Outdoors, guests can participate in public skating sponsored by Action Car & Truck, visit the Rona Pit Stop to toast marshmallows at the s'mores station, and enjoy complimentary maple taffy on a stick from Briggs Maples.

“This year’s program brings back the family-friendly activities people look forward to every New Year’s Eve. From indoor entertainment and hands-on activities to outdoor skating and the always-popular family-friendly fireworks display at 7:15 p.m., we’ve created an evening that everyone can enjoy,” says Claire Esson, Co-chair of the New Year’s Eve Family Fun Fest organizing committee.

The event has become a hallmark of Moncton’s community celebrations.

“We’re excited to welcome everyone downtown to ring in the new year,” says Deputy Mayor Thériault. “With a great lineup of headliners, activities for all ages, and entertainment throughout the evening, this celebration truly brings our community together in the heart of the city for a memorable New Year’s Eve.”

Event schedule:

• 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.: Enjoy live performances by entertainers and musicians at the Rona Local Stage:
  • 2 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.: Opening Prayer and welcoming remarks
  • 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.: Old School
  • 3:45 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.: Colleen Evelyn
  • 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.: Spoiled Rotten
• 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.: Engage in a variety of kid-friendly activities and enjoy live performances at the BioScript Kid’s Zone:
  • 2 p.m. to 2:20 p.m.: Children’s choir
  • 2:30 p.m. to 3:10 p.m.: Mike Pendergast
  • 3:20 p.m. to 4:10 p.m.: Mr. Mark
  • 4:20 p.m. to 4:50 p.m. (French): Mike Pendergast
  • 5:05 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. (English): Mike Pendergast
  • 6 p.m. to 6:50 p.m.: Mr. Mark
• 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.: Enjoy a delicious fundraiser barbecue and fries from the Cavendish Fry Truck. All proceeds will go to the United Way.
• 2 p.m. to midnight:
  • A variety of vendors, including ShanGRILLa, Mama K’s, and Veena’s Kitchen, will be available to satisfy your taste buds.
  • Visit the Hyatt Place Moncton/Carrabba’s Outdoor Bar to experience a unique cocktail selection and a cozy atmosphere.  
• 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.: Catch the Moncton Wildcats as they face off against the Charlottetown Islanders at the Avenir Centre.
• 7 p.m.: Meet your Moncton Wildcats in the Avenir Centre lobby. Connect with the team, snap photos, and collect autographs from your favourite players sponsored by the Lounsbury Group of Companies.
• 7 p.m. to midnight: Cozy up and get warm in the Avenir Centre sponsored by the Lounsbury Group of Companies.
• 7:15 p.m.: Watch a pre-midnight fireworks display for families sponsored by Ashford Properties and Avant Garde Construction.
• 6:15 p.m. to midnight: Evening concert with performances by –
  • 6:15 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. (with a 15-minute break from 7:15 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.): Big Bad Party Band sponsored by Acadian Construction and Extreme Windows and Entrance Systems
  • 8:45 p.m. to 10 p.m.: Tcheu Misère sponsored by IG Wealth Management
  • 10:15 p.m. to midnight: Signal Hill sponsored by Subaru of Moncton and Greystone Energy Systems
• Midnight: Ring in the New Year with the Atlantic Lottery Countdown and a spectacular fireworks show sponsored by Medavie.

Codiac Transpo will offer free New Year’s Eve service as of 5:30 p.m. on select routes. The schedule for the special Dec. 31 service will be posted on www.codiactranspo.ca at a later date.
