- Council recognized the Moncton Cubs 14U Girls Baseball Team for winning the Baseball New Brunswick 14U Girls Provincial Championship.
- Superintendent Benoit Jolette provided an update on RCMP operations.
- Moncton Fire Chief Conrad Landry provided an update on Moncton Fire Department operations.
In planning matters, Council:
- heard a public presentation for a rezoning at 275 Université Ave. to permit the conversion of an existing building to a medical clinic and two residential units
Council also:
- approved updates to the City’s Agencies, Boards, Commissions, and Committees Policy
- approved writing off $26,501.54 of accounts deemed to be non-collectable
- approved beginning the process to stop up and close an unbuilt portion of the West Lane Extension
- approved extending the agreement with Miller Waste for residential waste collection by six months to June 30, 2028 and the agreement with Fero Waste and Recycling for bulk waste collection services by 18 months to June 30, 2028
- approved a three-year plan for the Provincial-Municipal Highway Partnership Program (2029-2031) that includes the following projects:
- 2029: Resurfacing Salisbury Road from the Journey Church to city limits
- 2030: Resurfacing Shediac Road from east of Route 2 to city limits
- 2031: Resurfacing Salisbury Road from Hump Yard Road to Llangollen Road

In planning matters, Council:
- heard an introduction for a rezoning at 275 Université Ave. to permit the conversion of an existing building to a medical clinic and two residential units
- heard public presentations for a rezoning at 141 Lewisville Rd. to accommodate a five-storey 32-unit mixed-use building and for a housekeeping amendment to modify the zoning of properties that were incorrectly zoned P1 (Community Use Zone) when the Vision Lands Secondary Plan was updated earlier this year
- accepted cash in lieu of land for public purposes in the amount of $7,635.53 for the J.H. Taylor Subdivision on Fernwood Avenue
- approved land for public purposes for the Sebastien Girouard Subdivision on Crowley Farm Road
- accepted cash in lieu of land for public purposes in the amount of $27,784.10 for the Heathfield development on Highlandview Road
Council also:
- entered into an encroachment agreement with the Capitol Theatre to accommodate the replacement of the theatre’s LED marquee sign
- approved continuing the Codiac Youth and Family Wellbeing Grant Program and the Family Connectivity Program
- held a public hearing and approved a stop up and close for a portion of Mount Pleasant Road at Mountain Road
- approved an application to the New Brunswick Municipal Finance Corporation to borrow $24.3 million to fund capital projects

- Council presented a Certificate of Recognition to Quinn Strang for crossing Canada and raising more than $100,000 for cancer research.
- Council heard presentations from Moncton ACORN, Greater Moncton Asian Heritage 2027, and the Public Service Alliance of Canada, as well as on downtown safety concerns and downtown busking.
- Superintendent Benoit Jolette provided an update on RCMP operations.
In planning matters, Council:
- heard introductions for a rezoning at 141 Lewisville Rd. to accommodate a five-storey 32-unit mixed-use building; a housekeeping amendment to modify the zoning of properties that were incorrectly zoned P1 (Community Use Zone) when the Vision Lands Secondary Plan was updated earlier this year; and a housekeeping amendment to permit manufactured dwellings in rural areas annexed to the City during the local governance reform process in 2023
- approved using land from three properties to widen Mountain Road near Mount Pleasant Road
- approved a plan and the purchase of land to accommodate the construction of a multi-purpose trail on the east side of Elmwood Drive from Lewisville Road to Donald Avenue
- approved land for public purposes at 1904 Main St.
Council also:
- approved street closures for fall and winter events
- awarded a contract for $1,086,042 to Pulse Excavating Ltd. for widening Mount Road near Mount Royal Road
- awarded a contract for $726,533 to A.R. Rietzel Landscape Ltd. to replace the brick sidewalk on the south side of Main Street between Mechanic Street and Assomption Boulevard
- held first reading of a stop up and close for a portion of Mount Pleasant Road at Mountain Road
- approved an updated Customer Code of Conduct Policy and a new Customer Complaints Handling Policy
- approved a new e-micromobility by-law

- Council heard a presentation from the co-chairs of the 2026 NORCECA Men’s Continental Volleyball Championships
- Staff announced that the late William “Bill” Budd, the City of Moncton’s former Director of Planning, has been posthumously inducted as a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Planners (FCIP). Fellowship is the highest professional honour bestowed by the Canadian Institute of Planners, recognizing individuals who have made outstanding and sustained contributions to the planning profession and to communities across Canada

In planning matters, Council:
- approved a cash-in-lieu contribution in lieu of land for public purposes in the amount of $8,042.16 as part of the Gordon S. Carson Subdivision application. The subdivision will create two new lots, amend two existing lots, and create two parcels for transfer purposes. Based on recommendations from the Recreation and Planning and Development departments, cash-in-lieu was accepted instead of requiring land to be dedicated for public purposes.
Council also:
- awarded a contract of $743,600.93 for Commercial Electrical Services and Underground Repairs
- approved first reading of a by-law to regulate and license shared micromobility businesses operating in the City of Moncton
- approved updates to the City's plumbing fees to align with upcoming provincial changes and simplify the process for setting plumbing fees in the future.
June 15, 2026
- The newly sworn-in Council began their first public meeting with a blessing and smudge with Donna Augustine (Thunderbird Turtle Woman).
- Council heard presentations from the Peter McKee Centre, the Seniors Advisory Committee, and the Youth Advisory Committee.
- Superintendent Benoit Jolette provided an update on RCMP operations.
In planning matters, Council:
- approved Unit 4 of the Sterling Meadows Subdivision, including extending existing streets, creating a new street, and assenting to the location of land for public purposes
- approved the Public Hearing Policy.
Council also:
- awarded a three-year tender for curb, gutter, and sidewalk renewals valued at $839,251.50 to A. R. Rietzel Landscaping Ltd.
- awarded a tender of $7.65 million for the construction of a new warm storage building at the City’s Operations Centre to Quantum Construction Maritimes Ltd.
- approved $35,420 to purchase wildland firefighter helmets
- held second and third reading of the updated Procedural By-Law
- Coun. Paul Richard was elected deputy mayor by Council and will serve in the role until May 2027.
