Marc Leger

Councillor

Ward 2

Marc Leger is serving his first term on Moncton City Council. He was elected in 2026.

Leger has had a lifelong interest in conservation and making sure people have access to nature for recreation and well-being. His work and volunteer experience reflect this passion for the outdoors.

Currently employed as the Southeast Regional Service Commission’s trails coordinator, Leger has also worked with Fundy National Park, the Trans Canada Trail, the Sentier de l’École, the UNESCO Fundy Biosphere Reserve, the New Brunswick Environmental Network, and Katimavik.

He is a past president of the Fundy Hiking Trails Association Executive Committee and has served as trailmaster of the Fundy Footpath. He was also co-chair of the Friends of Mill Creek Nature Park and is an advocate for trail development and land protection.

Leger holds diplomas in radio studies and in hospitality and tourism/adventure recreation from NBCC.

His priorities include linking neighbourhoods with safer walking and cycling routes to support safer streets and affordable, active lifestyles; urban densification; addressing the homelessness, addictions, and mental health crisis in the city; and ensuring local policing meets the needs of the community.
