Team Moncton Hosts Event to Announce Final Team Canada Roster 2022-12-09

 

The City of Moncton is pleased to announce that Team Moncton, the local organizing committee tasked with the tournament’s community program, will host a public event to announce the final Team Canada roster for the 2023 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship. 

The event is free, and will take place Monday, December 12 at 5:00 p.m. at Downtown Place (150 Canada Street). Team Canada will be present during the announcement. The event will be animated with music by a DJ. A food truck will also be on site for the convenience of eventgoers.

“We are thrilled to have the Team Canada Selection Camp in Moncton, said Bill Whalen, co-chair of Team Moncton. “What better way to conclude the camp than with the announcement of the final roster with Team Canada present. We invite everyone to come cheer them at Downtown Place on Monday, as they prepare for the championship.”

Team Canada is in Moncton for the Selection Camp taking place at the Avenir Centre from December 9 to 12 to select a final team roster ahead of the 2023 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship. The selection camp includes practices and two games against a team of U SPORTS all-stars, December 11 at 2 p.m. and December 12 at 12 p.m. Moncton ticket packages include one ticket for both games, while fans who have not purchased a ticket package can buy single-game tickets to each U SPORTS game on the Avenir Centre's website.

Tickets: Single-game tickets are now available for purchase. Hockey fans are invited to visit the Avenir Centre’s website to buy tickets for games in Moncton. 

Pre-tournament: Fans will also have the chance to see Team Canada in Moncton during the pre-tournament, as they play against Switzerland on December 19, and Slovakia on December 21 at the Avenir Centre. The tournament and pre-tournament schedules can be found here.
