The City of Moncton and Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities (Jumpstart) are proud to announce the grand opening of the Jumpstart Multi Sport Court in East End Park (35 Fergus St.). At over 13,000 square feet, the new Jumpstart Multi Sport Court provides a space for organized sport and casual play that is designed to accommodate physical, cognitive, and sensory disabilities.

“This amazing space is a wonderful addition not just to the local neighbourhood, but to the whole city,” says Moncton Mayor Dawn Arnold. “Creating places where everyone has the opportunity to play and be active is one of the guiding principles of our Recreation Master Plan and is so important as we work to build a healthier, more resilient community.”

Through collaboration with Jumpstart and thanks to the generosity of local Canadian Tire Dealers Ronald J. Landry, Pierre Lauzon, and Scott Shawn Bodnar, local kids of all ages and abilities can play together side-by-side, fostering a stronger, more inclusive, and healthier community.

“Through sport, kids have the opportunity to develop valuable life skills such as teamwork, confidence and resiliency,” said Marco Di Buono, President of Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities. “We are proud to partner with the City of Moncton and our Canadian Tire Dealers to bring the power of inclusive play to Moncton.”

The court is conveniently located in East End Park, a community hub that features a youth centre, pool and newly-constructed walking trail. The Jumpstart Multi Sport Court is part of the Charity’s Inclusive Play Project, which focuses on removing accessibility barriers to sport and play.
