As part of Codiac Transpo’s phased COVID-19 recovery and as approved by Moncton City Council, service levels will increase once again effective Sunday, Feb. 19 and restoration to pre-pandemic service level will be complete.

Codiac Transpo will be installing closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras on all buses over the coming year.

A total of 8,784 people were added to the CMA last year, bringing the population up from 162,824 people in 2021 to 171,608 in 2022, according to Statistics Canada.

The City of Moncton has once again surpassed its best year in annual building activity, this time by more than 23 per cent over 2021, and 43 per cent over pre-pandemic levels.

Moncton City Council approved the 2023 fee schedule for municipal services at its regular council meeting on Dec. 5. The fees will take effect Jan. 1, 2023.

The City of Moncton is changing its winter parking restrictions to allow overnight parking on most city streets, unless snow-clearing and ice removal operations are expected or taking place.

Moncton City Council’s 2023 budget both reduced the residential tax rate and invested additional funds in key services such as snow clearing, community safety, social issues, environmental initiatives, and recreational activities.

The total value of building permits in the first three quarters of 2022 reached an impressive $309.6 million compared to $220.9 million for the same timeframe last year, representing a 40% increase.
