Bryan Butler
Bryan Butler is serving his third term on Moncton City Council. He was first elected in 2016 and re-elected in 2021 and 2026.
A graduate of the Atlantic Police Academy at Holland College, Butler brings more than 30 years of law enforcement experience to his role on Council. He began his career in community policing with the Moncton Police Force in 1979, then worked with the RCMP until his retirement in 2013.
Throughout his career, Butler worked to support and educate young people, serving as the Codiac RCMP School Community Liaison and teaching the D.A.R.E program in many Moncton area schools. He was also a member of the Mayor’s Public Safety Advisory Committee and the Anglophone East School District’s Anti-Bullying Committee, and coached hockey in the Moncton Minor Hockey Association.
Butler was awarded the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal for Community Involvement in 2012 and the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal in 2023 for his ongoing commitment to bettering the lives of Monctonians.
