You do not need to be a member to benefit from many of the YMCA’s youth programs!

Please note: Youth ages 12 to 17 must register with a legal guardian upon their first visit. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult guardian. All non-members must have their photo taken and saved in the database before entering the facility.

$5 Youth Day Passes: In partnership with the City of Moncton, youth ages 12 – 18 can access the facility and programs every Friday and Saturday for $5.  A regular youth day pass is $15.53. 

Public Swims: In partnership with the City of Moncton, public swims are offered for $3 Friday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Sunday afternoons from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Please note that bathing caps are required. 

Be You: a free, welcoming drop-in program for 2SLGBTQ+ youth aged 12–17, offering a safe space to hang out, be yourself, and connect with others who understand. Every Wednesday night from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., youth enjoy games, art, themed events, snacks, and meaningful discussions led by trained staff. Whether you’re exploring your identity or simply looking for a place to belong, Be You is a place of joy, safety, and affirmation. Allies are also welcome! The North End YMCA is a hub of activity for Moncton’s youth!

Youth Connections: this youth-led, youth-focused drop-in program for ages 12–18 is offered Monday to Friday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Free of charge, it blends open gym, art and movie nights, community outings, life-skills workshops, and volunteering opportunities.

The program is offered year-round and runs from September 1 – August 31. New participants can join at any time. First time attendees of the program must register with a parent or guardian at the Membership Services desk. After that, drop in on scheduled nights.  Check out the schedule for YMCA Moncton North  to see what’s happening and when. Walking Track: Located on the second floor, the 100m indoor track is open daily, free of charge. The track has comfortable cushion flooring, lots of natural lighting, and built-in slopes. Plenty of seating throughout the track area provides opportunities to relax, connect with friends, or plug-in to get some homework done. 

All Wheels Park: Open daily until dusk, this concrete park offers varied options for skateboarders, inline skaters, scooter riders and bikers of all levels.

The Moncton Library is a place of endless opportunities for youth! Open seven days a week, they offer free programs and services, including:
 

  • Books, movies, audiobooks, and digital resources
  • A makerspace where you can access 3D printing services, Cricut, button makers, sewing machine, and more
  • Object lending, where you can borrow what you need, from skateboards to baking pans
  • A seed library to help you develop your green thumb
  • Book clubs organized by genre
  • Conversation circles and Rosetta Stone to help you learn and practice a new language
  • Drop-in clubs for knitting, origami, games and more
  • Plus, an art gallery, learning opportunities, special events, and so much more

Open Gym
Choose from a variety of sports and equipment, including basketball, ball hockey, badminton, and more. Whether you’re coming with friends or joining a pick-up game, open gym is a great way to get moving and connect with other youth in Moncton, free of charge.

BGC Moncton offers a safe, welcoming space where youth can connect with friends, try new activities, and build confidence. Whether you’re into sports, creative arts, leadership, or just looking for a place to hang out after school, the Club offers programs designed with youth in mind.

From recreational activities and fitness programs to leadership opportunities, skill-building workshops, and summer experiences, BGC Moncton helps youth explore their interests and develop real-world skills. The Club also provides mentorship, nutritious meals and snacks, and a supportive environment where everyone belongs.

This volunteer-led non-profit connects people of all backgrounds through inclusive programs that promote social interaction and community participation. Moncton Cares’ events and activities support youth and other residents in building meaningful connections, developing new skills, staying active, and celebrating cultural diversity.

Moncton Cares’ Community Sports Program offers affordable, beginner-friendly sports and fitness activities through a Community Pass. For $24, participants can choose 8 drop-in sessions from activities such as badminton, pickleball, volleyball, dance fitness, yoga, and more. All ages, backgrounds, and skill levels are welcome. Up for a little friendly competition? From June to October, check out the City’s tennis, pickleball, and shuffleboard courts! These outdoor courts are free to use and available to players of all skill levels on a first come, first served basis. 

Users can register for an access code (hyperlink) to borrow equipment on-site at no charge. The shuffleboard court is fully stocked and ready for play. Tennis and pickleball courts provide nets only, so don’t forget your own rackets, paddles, and balls.

Croix Bleue Medavie Stadium

Looking for a new place to run, train, or just get moving? From June to October, the Croix Bleue Medavie Stadium on the Université de Moncton campus is open to the public, free of charge!  The stadium features a 400-metre, 8-lane international-standard track, making it the perfect place to run, walk, train, or just challenge your friends to a lap!

Free two-hour parking is available in lot P-9 (between the stadium and Pavillon Léopold-Taillon).
